100%. We are in war off-season and unless your alliance grinds bgs it's going to be really hard to make progress.
I thought we used to get points for doing regular content not just alliance based content before
Once upon a time, but that's changed with the new event. Now it requires both a more active alliance and an alliance more committed to alliance content.
If you have 30 active people in an alliance just bs ing around it really isnt that bad.
and first week under the new points system (I believe) was during RAIDS, which gets the huge points collecting Raid Chests.
Currently, no Raids, AW offseason, and no Incursions. Just BG matches as extra points.
As someone in a more relaxed and transient ally of veteran players and minis, it absolutely is a worse event for us.
If the intent was to drive players to more active alliances that are more actively involved in alliance content, the result for us has been increased pullback from the game overall.
Personally, the combo of the weekly event, the botched Essentia rollout and the abandonment of Mysterium as a meaningful currency has left me with a bunch of stuff I really don’t know what to do with or how to spend.
I’m working on my 6th R5 and trying to figure out how these new and better currencies and events have made things better for me.
Dr. Zola
It’s really just aq, aw, and bgs. Without war it’s just aq and bgs
I agree entirely. My alliance has no issue whatsoever, as do many. But we both know there's at least one guy on here who blames his inactive and disinterested alliance (due to poor leadership and lacking expectations) on why they can't achieve higher level rewards than what is scraped off the bottom of the barrel. In that regard, an alliance of 30 still requires an active investment in alliance content to achieve the rewards. For a lot of us that just happens to be effortless.
As Zola noted above, for those alliances already not active enough to achieve these rewards naturally, it creates a worse situation because the intention is to drive engagement in modes players already didn't want to play and rewards them with items they don't need for content they don't want to do.
Overall it is better, and given that it is an alliance event the setup makes far more sense than what we had before. I just wish they would stop flooding us with so much AQ junk and give us useful stuff.
You mean the people who say "We play AW, AQ casually, just do regular raids and Colosseum" and complain about not getting AQ consumables? Lol
More along the lines of complaining about not getting what they could before by essentially playing solo in their alliance and believing that should be acceptable for an alliance event.
yea my ally more so focuses on raids and colli and not that much about war so this realy is not a good event anymore
The event changed, if they are talking about the loyalty being taken away is fair. Once the event changes and see the milestone rewards complaining about not being able to reach it cause they don't play the modes is hilarious.
I agree. The problem really isn't the way the event is now (though that loyalty needs to come back or let us select between AW and AQ consumables), it's the way the event was before. You could be in an alliance by yourself and max it. Why should an alliance event not have an increased focus on cooperation?
idk why but the event seemed to have more value before
How is this focused on alliance modes? It has points for BG’s participation and incursions. With AW off season and this being rampant week, BG going off season, and no incursions, there really is no way to get points to max out the event.
