Thoughts on Weekly Super Event

Alliance event has been live for a few weeks now, and I’m curious to get a feel for how it’s been received.

We are a very relaxed ally of retired, transient and some really active veteran players. For now it looks like we have settled somewhere into
the first 3-4 milestones as our steady state.

That’s not terrible, but the absence of modes has a tremendous effect on our score. Off-season AW, no incursions, standard AQ, no Coliseum…all of that depresses our scores a lot.

Furthermore, the inability to use resources (energy, for example) to boost scores (like repeat runs on Coliseum, for example) to farm points dampens scores.

It’s a mixed bag for us. We probably wind up around where we would have before the new event (with a bunch of items that will expire or get sold, like pots).

For a full, active ally, I can imagine it’s a large improvement.

Any other perspectives?

Aside from raids points, I think they at least need to raise everything else by 50%. Even for really active alliances it is a stretch to hit the last milestone. My alliance is currently 400 points shy and there's nothing to do to go get those points in time.

the the points are a joke first time ever we won’t hit the last milestone. Kabam just can’t do anything right for the players. It’s so toxic I don’t understand why they hate there player base. They tell everyone to be nice but there the ones doing things that are not nice to all the players.

My alliance used to hit the top milestone within a few days. Now we only get to milestone 2 or 3.

The points feel very stingy. Normal AQ for example—there’s a point for using one energy and two for getting to the final node. Why zero points for defeating a defender? And why half of what’s available for AW? No points for winning a fight at all?

With everything going full tilt, all modes with active content, the scoring might work. But much like the currency economy, this feels like version 1.0 that gets rolled out knowing it’s not fully baked

My ally (map 8 / NR / plat 2) has been able to max it out pretty easily except for last week (the one ending today). Just checked and we are 260 points short. So our options:

— everyone rush into the current war and earn 2 points per energy spent (impossible)

— everyone grind unranked Bgs, again for 2 points per opponent defeated (probably impossible, certainly ridiculous)

Last week was a perfect storm of offseason AW and BGs, rampant whatever, no incursions. Seems like just poor planning on Kabam’s part in terms of scheduling.

Of course the event doesn’t give points for Coliseum—only Alliance Coliseum. Giving points for a mode that runs fairly regularly would apparently be too generous for the rewards budget.

Used to hit all the milestones but definitely falling short now. Maybe 2 or 3 missed each week. Content plays a big role in that.

There should be more ways to get points all along the game, if your alliance isn't focused on bgs, or most ppl don't play that mode its almost impossible to keep up with the points requirements, since there are weeks with more points available and dry weeks, like last one.

The idea of being all about alliance events isn't bad, but the amount of points isn't really there.

My alliance hits the top milestone every week but due to the varying aq structure some weeks are harder than others. Most notable this rampant week was much closer than other weeks

it’s completely horrible , I never get even the first milestone while I used to get all milestones, kabam just removed rewards for a lot of players

that reads an awful lot like “Kabam is trying to see if they can get away with this”… can’t swear to the intent, but it seems like it.

I don't like the current system. It's all so tied to the various game modes that any of them being on cooldown/off-season really hurts your points total. I have absolutely no desire to grind off-season BGs or AW just to pump up my alliance event points.

I don't remember how the points system looked like in the past, but we used to comfortably hit every milestone even as a very much mid-tier alliance. It's not like the rewards got such a huge bump that I think it's reasonable that only the sweatiest alliances reaches the top milestones. It feels like something every alliance should be able to hit (especially since the rewards are progression-gated anyway) if they just put in enough effort, like it used to be. It's not like the rewards are enough to justify pushing harder in any specific game mode, either.

It's just a weird change.

Transient opportunities to earn points is a common critique—and I totally agree.

For example, currently no ranked BGs right now, no Raids, no Incursions (is Incursions an alliance mode anyway?), no Alliance Coliseum.

Yeah who knows what the intent is? The game needed a simplification of its many currencies, but with Essentia being the main rewards currency, this event seems like its over-strict design was tied into the currency overhaul.

My hope is they revisit it all promptly and make it actually seem and be more rewarding overall.

Its another thing that was half assed thought out. The math makes sense with 3 weeks of regular 4 day AQ and 1 week of Raids.

When you put Coloseum and Ramp week, and off season BG and AW the numbers are a mess.

I personally think the scoring needs some tuning. I'm in a pretty active alliance. Multiple elder members. We do map 8, nightmare raids, etc. I will say there's not much of an emphasis on BGs which is why I like it there. We are definitely struggling in the weekly event. We hit the top milestone during raids week but that was it. If we are struggling to make progress then I wonder how many other alliances are as well. Maybe it's a shift from Kabams view on the event? It seems like the old weekly event was a given, maybe they view the top rewards as something you really need to push for to get? If so, it seems odd that it wasn't communicated that way.

The points systems seems quite whacky. Raids weeks will be fine, Rampant AQ we only made it because we play AW, and BGs was off-season.

Incursions has been relegated from the game pretty much, no help there.

Last week with regular AQ and off-season AW, I had to constantly remind people to put up the points so we could get there. Once we did get there they said oh wow this final milestone is good.

Same issues with my alliance, wiht normal AQ, off season war and off season BG, it's impossible for us to reach the top milestone. Actually we reach only middle milestone. I think the only time we reach it was during Nightmare raids since they gave out the most points. The new system is a hard NO for me. They need to adjust the point system.

Like others have mentioned, Raid week was fine, but otherwise its a struggle. If they just add points for defeating opponents in War and AQ(including the Rampant version), I think it would be a lot more reasonable and consistent.

I think you're missing a bigger thing. Normal AQ doesn't run every week anymore. Yes, we get points for alliance coliseum but that goes three days. So after Wed, you can get points for AW, if you run it. Or you can get points for BGs when the season starts, again if you actively participate in BGs. No incursions and no raids currently running in game.

Why does Kabam give points for events that might not even be running? Why not broaden it so it's got some of the old summoner advancement stuff in it. A nice hybrid.

On top of this, why are all the potions AQ related? I love having a back stock when raids are on so when the raids revives run out, I can still keep going. But over the last 3-5 days, I've sold probably a dozen and a half from my stash that were going to expire.

I'd say on top of tweaking points awarded, they should also tweak what you can do participation wise to score points, and tweak the milestone rewards to not make them overly AQ heavy.

Crossed out in red is what you can't get any points for as of the time I posted this response. That's essentially 75+% of the list. Of course casual alliances can't get more than 2 or 3 milestones.

It hasn't become popular though.
The problem exists. AW off-season + BGs off-season + Rampant AQ produce the lowest points in weekly event from average alliance member.

Yeah this is pretty much it. It’s fine for super active alliances, but for more relaxed ones it just feels limited and a bit underwhelming.

Honestly surprised there hasn't been any outrage about this change. My alliance is quite active, yet we’re barely hitting the second milestone. This change is a massive step in wrong direction and incredibly disappointing.
