The current meta, the same defenders, tying a piece to an experimental mode, Kabams push to drive this game into a massive time sink (or pay).
I mean, what's next: will Kabam say I can get only get a 1st appearance SF Doctor Doom if all the pieces are 1st appearance as well?
I'm sure others can add more input - BGs is just dead in the water

For real. Op either successfully predicted the future or unfortunately gave Kabam a new idea
Not sure how any can still defend the mode. Kabam needs to stop putting chase pieces in BGs.
yeah this is the most annoying meta by far, i will probably wait until the last week to complete the VT
this BG is ****. Shame Kabam Shame!
Heck even that, last season I was waiting until the last week to complete the final few rungs of the VT and still hadn't even gotten out of Vibranium III the morning of it ending, and was facing accounts with 6-7+ rank 5 Dark Phoenix's and the like. Seemed like a lot of people weren't having any fun with it and even big accounts weren't getting into GC cause of the grind.

yeah, I think the “wait to the last week” strategy is dead. 90% of the accounts looked the same last season as you noted when I squeaked in. The lower accounts have abandoned the mode completely. You are in GC competition from the get go. They aren’t parked for convenience, there’s only so much people can tolerate and there’s no huge incentive to push

This meta is just pandering to p2w whales with massive rosters who don't have the skills to actually play well. I've never liked BGs much, but this meta is the final straw for me. I won't even try pushing for the Circuit
On top of that, collectives just widens the gap. It seems all these new features are primarily geared towards whales and the rest of us get scraps.
Am I glad my account is growing? Sure.
If it were a job: I'm going from $25/hr to $29/hr, but whales are going from $300/hr to $750/hr. Just widening the gap between 'us' and 'corporate'.

I have never had less fun in the game than I am currently having in this season of Battlegrounds. I'll keep trying to make it out of Victory track, but I am reaching my limit. If this mode gets any worse—which is entirely plausible, given what's in store with collectives—I am going to just start avoiding it altogether.
But it'll still apply to the next dumpster season when they decide to lock a stellar forged piece behind it.
I found this as well. Ended up n Platinum last season (enthusiasm to get to GC was non-existant) and even three or four hours before the end I was up against 10-15 rank 4s every single time (and at least one R5). In Platinum.
It certainly feels like that the more casual players have walked away from BG. For me it's not just the meta, I'm fed up of seeing the same champions over and over again. And if a Stellar piece is locked behind the objectives, I'll just have to shrug and say 'never mind'.
