Is R5 A2 Sasquatch worth the investment?

The ascension tokens are champion specific so A2 is going to happen eventually

There’s no place to test Sasquatch as a defender unless you are CCP so I have to gauge based on past experience with smaller Sasquatch

Since someone actually posted the stats for r5 a2, in BGs you are a looking at a 889k hp which is just insane, then add to this add all the damage reduction going on + the healing from sig 200. Yeah lol I’d say he’s a pretty damn good defender, extremely tanky, furthermore his #1 hard counter which is Luke is extremely niche these days I’ve only seen one r5 so far myself. Your Scorpions Red Guardians Torches Hams Photons whatever you name it, are unlikely to kill him in under 60 secs with all the tankiness going on.

Also, quick reminder that this guy can take Maestro, Thanos, Onslaught, Nico, Photon etc

So idk about that guy saying Nico is a better option overall, if your Sassy is sig 200 a2 I’d say it’s actually pretty damn close. Also, they’re already trying to make Nico less effective lately, both Heimdall and Knull are horrible matchups for her.

Yep, and another thing I forgot to mention is Madelyn is coming to the Titan in about three weeks or so, and she already seems far more powerful than Nico which is just crazy so there's also that.

Nico is heavy reliant on the buff immunity debuff, the defender having buffs, and the poison damage. Madelyne doesn't haveto rely in thatany variables to dish out insane damage, so Nico is not even close in terms of versatility. Can Nico do Solvarch and Zola? Can Nico do Serpent and Dark Phoenix as fast as Madelyne in a meta with purify? Can Nico do Knull and Heimdall? The answer to all of them is no. You need to look at the bigger picture before making such a statement because Nico's kit is far from broken. Everyone thought so initially because of how many cosmic defenders she countered but her kit is actually pretty easy to shut down. As a matter of fact, she was terrible for the latest VT meta with protection, very slow.

As for defense, Madelyne is a way bigger staller because 1. you always have to bait sp1s and 2. the shield makes her extremely tanky. Nico gets nuked by any regular nuke like HM or BPCW and poison immunity makes her pretty much useless on defense as well whereas against Madelyne, if you want to stay super aggressive, you need buff immunity which isn't nearly as common as poison immunity.

Also this right here is false, op was asking about defense strictly, and r5 a2 Sasquatch is far better on defense than a r5 Nico. You can still nuke a r5 Nico with a r4 Sandman HM Silk or BPCW, good luck doing that to a r5 a2 Sasquatch tho, cause the only way he's getting nuked is with a r5 Luke which almost nobody has. Sure he's not as hard to fight as Nico but the fact that he's nuke immune is valuable by itself

My concern here is that after A2 is A3 and A11, Sasquatch is confirmed ascendable, that's guaranteed returns over long term

So the thinking here is short term vs medium term vs long term

Some meta champions like Nico are not ascendable, there are no plans for these champions revealed to us now, maybe even Kabam doesn't know now whether they will be added into the pool in future

Maybe it depends on the mood of the game dev in future

R6 is the max lifespan for non ascendable champions, these champions are meta but their lifespan is shorter than A11

I would like to R5 champions like Nico, Serpent for short term advantage but I might lose out in the medium term if they are not included in ascension pool

That's what I don't like about 7* ascension, it's a suspended death sentence for champions that are meta now and in the battlegrounds deck of every GC player

It somehow affects ranking up decisions depending on what players value, short term advantage vs long term guaranteed returns

I reached GC a week and a half ago, I have r5 Nico as well and she was losing me multiple matchups due to speed especially against a2 Maestros and r5 Serpents.

I think she was the best dual threat mystic a couple months ago but after Madelyn and ascension yes I don’t believe that is the case anymore. Ascension gave champs like BPCW Hit Monkey Lizard and Sandman such a huge boost that she really isn’t as much of a threat anymore she gets nuked in 35 secs by most of these. As for attack she is definitely still a top 5 but having champs like Madelyn Pav and Sasquatch ascended does make her value drop a bit because they can do most of the matchups she can do, of course they’re a bit trickier and not as braindead as with her but they’re doable in about the same speed, and also like I said most of these can take multiple classes not just cosmics. Nico is strictly cosmics with some exceptions like Heimdall and Knull which are terrible for her for obvious reasons, and then she can do some techs like Red Skull but that’s it. Sasquatch has some much versatility on attack, same goes with Pav and Madelyne due to how they all deal damage, Nico unfortunately doesn’t if there aren’t any buffs in there for her to apply poisons or the defender is poison immune and not cosmic she is virtually useless in every sense other than defense assuming they didn’t draft top nukes for her.
