Last off season, I made a post asking how off season matching works and what, if any, are the implications of the result of each off season war - we know war rating doesn't change, visibly.. but a lot of folks believe that winning or losing an off season war has some type of impact on your matching at the beginning of season.. and if it does, how does it work?
So, last off season we matched exclusively Masters (top 20) Alliances, for all 6 wars.. I personally thought this was pretty low probability if matching is random, but people just told me it's random and just how it goes (again, it doesn't actually matter who you match in off season.. I just found it particularly odd as we were bottom of t1
Now, in this off season, we are t2.. we fumbled in many cases, but our season matching was not good either.. 3 Masters alliances (including a podium alliance) in a row for our first 3 wars, is what it is.. but I need information
So now, 2 wars into this off season (playing in t2) we have matched Masters alliances so far.. for a running total of 8 in a row so far beginning last off season
Idk exactly how many alliances we are able to match with at any given time, but there are 20 Masters alliances in the whole game.. so if the pool of alliances we can match is 100 and it's a 20% chance to match a Masters alliance.. here is the probability of that happening 8 times in a row

Lets say the pool of alliances we can match is only 40 total (for a 50% chance to match a Masters alliance - though I'm pretty certain the reality is closer to the first example).. here is the probability for that to happen 8 times in a row

All this to say, something weird is happening.. and ultimately I would just love some clarification on the questions at the top of post ideally from a Kabam rep, but appreciate all responses, thanks!
