Battlegrounds sucks

Am I the only one who for this season battlegrounds has made me hate this game so incredibly much. Last season to get the star lord piece (challenging but not impossible) this season? So ridiculously terrible it’s made me want to quit the game.

You should just quit tbh. Kabam hasn't gotten any better over the years. There's no indication things are trending in a positive direction.

Even for endgame accounts, the grind to the GC is so much harder than it used to be. No less-developed accounts play, so nobody quits, and there are no free matches.

I can't even fathom how it must feel to have under 30k prestige while trying to push to get into the GC.

Made the executive decision to not bother pushing this garbage mode. I won't be falling for Kabam's sad engagement farm attempt. I don't understand why they keep trying to include BGs in everything when they already know the majority of the player base doesn't even play or enjoy the mode.

I generally agree, but I did have several matches that were forfeited to me, including in Vib 2 & 3.

I reached today. Saved up 10+ victory shields was useful. It's just other accounts worked/paid more than me. Less easy matches though, I like forfeits

I think for base players joining ranked mode, BGs has been a bit of a letdown. With huge accounts playing in the Silver and Gold stages all the time, the grind has been painstaking and doesn't yield much. I'm not sure many new progressing players are going to be able to utilise BGs. Lower prestige players lose motivation and then it becomes a sort of rich-get-richer situation.

The entire game is richer get richer. My account has fallen behind since not spending as much and down from celestial to struggling for mysterium.

Agreed, Kabam has been focussed far too much on monetisation rather than player satisfaction. Whales were always going to have the highest progression speeds but now the disparity between them and normal players is just increasing.

the biggest issue is BG is a niche game mode only a small percentage of the greater community play BGs regularly so expect bigger rosters. Being a small roaster taking away health points hurts for playIng better in what essentially is a whale meta for speed nothings else matters. Which alot of matches i have lost even though i played better. If they wanted BGs to be skill based all players roster would be equal only based on who you place in your roster. But this is not profitable so not gonna happen.

While I agree that BGs sucks, this season is actually no more terrible than other seasons.

Ppl complain about how this meta is particularly bad, but in my experience it’s been largely the same - bigger rosters have advantage, try to strategize around the nodes, most opponents I face are either same or bigger than my account, and draft rng plays a huge role in whether you win or lose the match.

Yes, losing just because you’re 1 second slower sucks, but on the other hand - the Pause strategy doesn’t work this season, and I’ve won some rounds I don’t think I would’ve in other seasons.
