damage taken while blocking

Hey guys,
Taking over 500 damage on blocks in the new act. I thought this issue was addressed already? Can someone please explain if this is how it is intended to be. My hero is an R5 4 star so challenge rating should be equal. If it is intended can you please explain the formula when it comes to stats. My hero's armor + block prof vs my opponents attack etc. If this is how its supposed to be that is fine, but please explain how it works so we can figure out ways to improve our play besides buying pots. This could help us utilize or see the advantage of other characters that are deemed pretty much useless, like Luke Cage. Please advise.
