What is the point of 1 hour timers?

Compared to 1/2 hour timers do not make the fights harder. They do not require more skill. The only difference is that people have to log on more often. What is the point of that ? Normal sleep cycle is 8 hours. Either make the timers half hour or the stored energy 8.

The point is not to finish the quest or war instantly and not have to log on for the rest of the day. That part is understandable.
