Is degen energy based damage?

I was wondering if serum science (energy resistance) helps against degen on dormammu or even Mordos. Is anyone 100% sure on this? If not that mastery is almost useless. Why wouldn’t kabam alter it to help with the degen damage. Wouldn’t make it a huge buff or overpowered as it would only affect science champs and it wouldn’t kill the damage but just mitigate it a little better.

Not sure, but Ultron gains health on energy based attack... except with damage over time debuffs like "degen". So perhaps the same applies to the serum mastery. If Serum doesn't work against well against shock, then it will not work against degen.

Also, not all champs degen are energy based. Mordo clearly is, but Dormammu and Cable are not. So it is hard to tell.

Serum science should work fine on energy DoT like shock or coldsnap. Incinerate damage appears to be it's own thing, so unclear if serum science affects it. Has anyone ever checked?

Although it's not really spelt out, degeneration is likely to be a form of direct damage to which there is no resistance.
