I just saw in the 5* pool that only 5 characters were added to the basic 5*, doc oct, kp, medusa, mephito, and morning star. Why wasn’t blade added, its usually 6 5*s released each month?

Not really weird. They are reaching the end of the road for the accelerated schedule, because they are essentially caught up with the release schedule.
