Friend chat is Now social Chat

I have noticed that you now can’t chat privately to your friends. Everyone of your friends now can see what is written.
This is not ok as I have friends not in our alliance and also I can’t chat privately to individuals in our alliance.
How can we know plot who we are going to kick?
