Any good Phoenix players out there? Does she do enough to merit resource allocation?

Hi, folks! Hope everyone is doing well.

So, the question is basically the thread -- I had Phoenix as a 3-star but just pulled her as a 5-star. She kinda seemed OK sometimes as the 3-star...but sometimes, and I fully acknowledge it could be me as a player, it seemed like I am not getting the most out of the character.

What I don't know, since I do not have the character as a 4-star, is what her damage might feel like at a higher level. I can't quite guess what it would "feel like" if I took her to 2/35 or even 3/45...and with resources always tight, I don't necessarily want to waste many resources to find out.

So, I turn to you folks.

If you have a 5-star Phoenix at 2/35 or 3/45, can you share your thoughts about the character? Especially your thoughts about the damage output compared to others?

Her prestige is high so you’ll be able to meet those arbitrary cutoffs for sure; mine is rank 3. The damage is decent but nothing to write home about and she takes patience and a lot of timing. If you play her correctly you can die and come back to almost full health. Played with her against thanos and she saved me some time in uncollected. If you go for damage you won’t resurrect for as much but if you go for health the damage isn’t as good, but I enjoy her a lot!

High prestige when awakened damage is really low but cheat death when awakened is nice. Parry heavy to build up phoenix force charges and get furies which bump attack up a little and give incinerate. All in all decent but not good, I personally will not rank mine past R3 and that will only happen if i am overflowing on resources.

@VolumeOne and @TachyonShadow: Thanks for the insights. I don't really have too much hope of awakening the character, but you never know! It's interesting that she could get off the bench for that Thanos encounter.

If she has the five-plus furies at R3, what kind of damage are we talking about? Maybe topping out like an awakened Captain Marvel? Is that even close?

@ESF no nothing anywhere near cap marvel she is not a damage champ she is utility at best and even that isn't the best imo. She gains about 8% attack per fury and that will go until 10 so she can theoretically gain 80% attack but I don't see it as worth it when the cosmic class has Hyp, Medusa, Angela, Drax plus the new ones in the class now. I can't justify burning t4cc on her

Thanks -- that is what I was wanting to know. If a character cannot even get close to an awakened Captain Marvel, it's best for me to save those resources and live to fight another day.

I like Phoenix. I started a secondary account and relied heavily on her, Cable, Hawkeye, and Doc Oc to get through Act 3 & 4. If used correctly she has insanely high damage output. You can heavy attack to gain Phoenix Force charges and then L1 right before hitting an L2 to basically jump right to an L3 and then if you L3 with lots of fury, she does a ridiculous amount of damage. Just as a comparison, I know arena isn’t the best indicator, but my 3* 2/20 Phoenix did a minimum of 80% of max health damage to a 4* 4/40 Wolverine with 8 fury and an L3. Plus with 5+ fury she armor breaks, incinerates, and stuns. Lots of fury and L3 is her bread and butter though. Obviously not good in AW but for questing she can quickly do a lot of damage at the start of the fight and can keep reviving when awakened

Phoenix is decent but she it too heavy dependent to be meta.

If she is not awakened, I believe she loses a big part of her utility.

Unawakened, you can basically go for high damage. Do Heavy to get Phoenix charges, which will in turn grant you fury real fast, Use SP1 (when you have more than 4 phoenix charges and 4-6 Fury) to get a boost of power gain, which will propel you to more than SP2.

Do couple more heavy attacks to armor break the opponent and also incinerate. Get to SP3 and fire that, watch really good damage output.

But honestly, I wouldn't rank her more than 2/35 and evaluate on how good he damage, before going further.
