Can't join Alliance quest

I am trying to join bg2 alliance quest but game didnt let me join.anyone know why and how that happen?

If you recently left an alliance, while you were in a alliance quest, then that maybe the problem.

i'm trying to create an alliance but i can't because the tag keeps on saying that it is already taken but i type in random stuff and it still says that.
