    You need to be uncollected, which means beating the collector in act 5.

    More specifically, act 5.2. You don't need to complete all of act 5

    Hey INFINTYSPIDER23!

    Firstly we'd like to thank crogs and Championcritic for their incredibly helpful answers on this.

    They're exactly right in that you have to defeat the Collector in Act 5.2 in order to gain The Grand Master's Favor. This will allow you to get the Crystals you're looking for.
