In my opinion the AW T5B rewards have caused an imbalance in the game since it is rarest and most valued asset in the game. If there were various ways to get access to T5B through the course of playing MCOC (e.g. AQ, Arena, Challenges, Rifts, etc), it would reduce the single-minded focus on winning AW. While the monthly EQ also provides T5B shards and is valuable, it is not enough to balance out the game.
The importance of AW as a persistent game changer creates a domino effect of negativity that is impacting the entire game, how we play it, what we prioritize, what we buy, who we rank up, what alliances we join, our behavior towards each other and to the game developers, etc. The only way to truly balance the game is to reduce the tremendous importance of AW.
Remember, the game is not called Marvel Alliance Wars but Contest of Champions.
