I realize offers theoretically get slated weeks in advance, but the optics of the Energy Daily Card are rotten to the core.
The game has been overheating iOS and Android phones alike for nearly 3 weeks; most of us with overheating phones have backed off EQ and the rest of the game this month because our phones were more valuable to us than our MCoC accounts; and now a partial “fix” seems to have solved problems for a lot of Summoners. Just the right time to issue at least an interim apology and offer relief by (1)extending the EQ or (2) dropping some refills our way to help make up for the time lost due to a badly malfunctioning game, right?
Wrong. Enter the Energy Daily Card...a cheap way to squeeze $4.99 out of Summoners scrambling to make up ground.

While we understand your frustration and appreciate you sharing feedback, suggesting that an offer we've put out is "rotten to the core" is simply not constructive.
You are correct in stating that offers are determined well in advance, and when we see issues impacting some but not all Summoners our main focus is on correcting this issue, monitoring the resolution, and then determining how to make that right for those impacted. It does not necessarily mean that we are going to stop all activities for all Summoners.
In this instance, we made several judgment calls - first, we did pause two key events game wide. Those being AW Season 3, and the Goldpool arena re-run. This doesn't mean that all plans game wide are halted or paused. Our team also worked tirelessly to get a resolution out as quickly as possible.
This new update is not yet in the hands of all Summoners, and we spent the weekend closely monitoring its success. Soon, all Summoners on iOS will be downloading this update - this will allow us to further determine the level of success and confirm resolution of the issue.
As a long-standing member of the community, you are familiar of our approach to compensation - namely that we do not start discussing it until we are confident an issue has been resolved, and that our team can analyze the impact it has had. We use this information to inform and drive conversations surrounding compensation. This process means that in some cases, compensation is announced later than some may wish to have it announced. However, we remain confident that the best way to approach such a situation is with as much information as possible, to ensure a better decision.
As with all offers, if something is not to your liking - we encourage you to make your own choices in the game. We are constantly monitoring the success of offers, and if something is not appealing and does not perform, we take that into consideration. We don't expect all Summoners to be pleased with all offers - which is why we run many different types of offers in game.
And offers do not negate our dedication to compensation when the situation calls for it. We will continue to have discussions, as we have already mentioned, with relation to the recent live issues, and advise the wider player base once we have more information.
