How do recovering masteries work?

I am a player of Marvel Contest of Champions and I have a question about recovering masteries. I have a pretty good mastery set up but I also have a few masteries i want to switch around. When i clicked "recover masteries" it said that all unlocked masteries will stay unlocked, but my question is Will the cost to level up will be free if i wanted to level up a mastery i already had unlocked and leveled up?

    You have the masteries unlocked, but you have to pay whichever medium (units/gold) to rank them back up. You simply don't have to pay the fee to re-unlock the different tiers of each mastery.
