I would say hulk. Quake is always having issues with bugs it seems. If going for science all together I would say modok as he doesn't need to be awakened to dish out tons of damage, autoblock is very useful incase you slip up. Deals physical, energy, incinerate and bleed. Plus his s3 causes all kinds of good debuffs.
I took my 4* modok to r5 unawakened just for defense in war and instead I am using him more for quests and aw atk phase.
