If one is not good enough to play a certain game, what is it that compels them to cheat to win it? Especially, a game like this with little public praise or monetary gain?

There's the game where you tap on a screen, and then there's The Game, where you push every boundary you can to see what flies. Ask any successful hacker, thief, loanshark, politician why they do what they do and they'll all tell you "because we can."
