As previously announced, the team will be distributing an additional point toward milestones to anyone who completed the Absorbing Man fight in the first step of the Winter of Woe.

    Hi all!

Lots of really interesting conversations going on here! We had a conversation with Emma's designer about this.

While Emma was being designed, conversations came up about how Magneto and Juggernaut (and Unstoppable Colossus) have Helmets specifically designed to resist Telepathic powers, and to protect their minds from telepathy, since it comes up frequently in lore. We thought "this is a cool addition we could make" (like Daredevil being able to ignore Hood's invisibility) and weren't thinking "let's think of every exception". This is also just a cool interaction/easter egg in game, and is not designed to be a specific counter to Emma. Stick to Armor Break Champions for that!

As you know, we base our game heavily on Marvel lore, and some semblance of real-world physics/logic, but also balance all of that against what is best in game. We've decided that we are not going to be applying that same exception to Robots, as they are all Tech, and already have the class Advantage against Emma.

    Translation:

"We see Emma Frost as a massive money maker on AW defence and therefore have no intention of creating any more counters to her than we have to... no matter how logical the reasoning may be."

I feel like those with broken minds should be immune to emma frosts inverse controls, looking into a broken mind isnt too good, in comics at one point professor x looking into the mind of deadpool and went braindead

Thank you for your response. Current tech champs are pretty weak, unfortunately, it could be nice to buff them making them good counter to her as a defender

    Are you... are you serious?

Yes. I was Talking about robots

Umm Sentinel, Vision, Nebula and Ultron are all pretty good champions.

    so according to Kabam:
robots have a mind (Inverted Controls yes),
but they don't have a heart (Willpower no)

So... does mind control work against the AI while using her as an attacker 🤔

    This is a strange “balance”

Moving on from robots, was there any consideration given to either Psylocke or Phoenix having inherent resistance to this effect?

Both are supposedly telepaths, after all; and neither is really a high-tier, regularly-brought-to-war champion.

It would be very much akin to the Daredevil Vs Hood Easter Egg - any possibility of this happening?

Sorry but I just don't really accept the rationale here. You can't honestly say, in one breath that you base the game on Marvel lore and physics/logic but then express that robots should be mind-controlled (regardless of not having an actual mind) because "Well, they have class advantage so..."

That makes no sense. What does it matter whether or not they also have class advantage? They should, in all semblance of logic, be completely immune to all telepathic powers. They don't have a mind.

Oh, people with helments can't be mind-controlled because they're protected, but robots without a mind... well... they're already robots so that's advantage enough!

Sorry, that's pretty weak and lazy.

I believe their logic is, "If we made robots immune, too many people will use robots in the quests, and we will not get them to use units on the quest. We must thus throw away common sense and let telepathy affect robots, even when in the comics they can't, and if so Professor X would have already mind controlled sentinels and be done with it. "
