Make Ronan the Accuser break the meta [Character Rework]

The powercreep has one advantage: it has revived a pronounced dead champion. I’m talking about Ronan the Accuser. A lot of new champions and nodes rely on the accumulation of buffs such as Fury and Armor Up, all of which Ronan can do devastating damage against.
For the people who are unfamiliar with Ronan, let me recap his main advantages:
But is that enough for Ronan to break the meta? No, of course not, or he would already have done so. How can Kabam, with some tweaks, revamp Ronan so he can do that?
All this together makes Ronan the Accuser a competitive champion, which can challenge the meta by countering their strengths.
For the people who are unfamiliar with Ronan, let me recap his main advantages:
- Ronan the Accuser is the best counter to every buff-heavy champion. His signature ability and Sp2 increases in damage per buff.
- Ronan the Accuser’s Special Attacks have a 100% chance to stun. His signature ability increases stun duration per buff active. This is an easy way to break Iceman’s Ice Armor.
- Ronan the Accuser Sp1 and Sp2 deal True Damage, meaning it ignores armor and all resistances. This is great for new champions like Iron Man (Infinity War) who relies on high armor boosts.
- Ronan the Accuser Special Attacks turns Fury buffs into Weakness debuffs, reducing base attack rating by 44%. This is great against Sabretooth, Hyperion, Angela and other Fury-reliant champions.
- Ronan the Accuser heavy attacks turns Armor Up buffs into Armor Break debuffs. Sadly, it is better to not do that since the Armor Up buffs count for the signature ability and Sp2 damage boosts, while armor is ignored anyway.
- The cosmic supremacy synergy with Blackbolt gives all cosmic champions +20% (2*), +25% (3*) or +30% (4* and 5*) increased duration for Cruelty, Precision, Fury and Armor Up buffs.
But is that enough for Ronan to break the meta? No, of course not, or he would already have done so. How can Kabam, with some tweaks, revamp Ronan so he can do that?
- Make all Fury, buffs or passives, turn into Weakness debuffs. But on top of that, the Weakness debuff increases based on the amount of Fury. So one Fury decreases Attack by 44%, two Furies decreases it by 63% (44% + 0.44 * 44%), three Furies decreases it by 72% (44% + 0.44 * 44% + 0.44 * 0.44 * 44%), four Furies decreases it by 76% (you get the picture). Eventually at 10 it reaches it asymptotic maximum of 78.6%.
- The same thing applies to the heavy attack, for each Armor Up buff or passive, it is turned in an equal number of Armor Breaks. His Armor Breaks are relatively low, so no need for a diminishing return here. So this is mainly to tackle Iron Man (Infinity War), which has a really nasty auto-block when awakened but that relies on his Armor passives so Ronan can counter that.
- It is odd that for a cosmic champion, Ronan has no buffs of his own. His critical hit rating and critical hit damage is fairly low, so I suggest that attacks have a 9% chance to trigger a Precision and Cruelty buff. That gives the mystic champions also something to nullify and gives Ronan an advantage with the cosmic supremacy synergy.
- I would also add a Judgement debuff. Critical hits of Ronan have a 75% to place a Judgement debuff. Judgement debuffs inflict for their duration direct energy damage, lowers the critical hit resistance and reduces the increase of power and health by 30% (double for villains). This is a counter to Vision/Hyperion and Ultron/Blade. I suggest 78% base attack rating over 5.20 seconds, or 1.5% per tick. The Judgement debuffs do not stack, instead they refresh.
- The signature ability increases the duration of the Judgement debuff in a similar fashion as the increased stun duration per buff. To keep the same damage-per-tick rate, the damage increases per buff. This is on top of the original damage boost per buff. Thus, damage is boosted twice.
- Lastly, I would suggest a big change to his Special Attack 3. Currently it has no effect but the stun and Weakness (which you already get from the other two). Worse, because the Sp3 does not deal True Damage, it can happen you hit lower than the Sp2 (even more because that has an increase in damage per buff). So Sp3 needs to increase in potency. This is done by doing two things:
- Weakness is applied in the same fashion as above, but instead the Weakness debuff becomes permanent. To compensate that, it is lowered to 33% reduction (which asymptotically maximizes until 49.3%). The same happens with Armor Up buffs or passives: they are converted to permanent Armor Break debuffs with only two-thirds of the proficiency of the other Armour Breaks. The Armor Break and Weakness debuffs are applied before the Sp3 hits, so they count for damage calculation. Both are still considered debuffs, so they are affected by debuff removing abilities like Tenacity.
- An extra potent Judgement debuff is applied. It deals 208% base attack rating over 10.4 seconds, or 2% per tick. Any extra non-Armor Up and non-Fury buff increases damage by +26%, or +0.25% per tick. It lowers critical hit resistance even more and the power gain and healing is decreased by 40% (double for villains). This potent Judgement does stack with the shorter weaker version.
All this together makes Ronan the Accuser a competitive champion, which can challenge the meta by countering their strengths.

mordo and morningstar are way better in this situations
I disagree. With Ronan, you don’t have to do anything special to counter their buffs. The more they have, the more damage basic attacks do, no setup or specials needed.
He’s a complete monster against buffed champs. I use him quite a bit in those situations.
