You don’t need to see someone to control their mind. Frost could be in a different room and still control them. That’s how strong her ability is

Being invisible doesn’t mean intangible or undetectable. Emma should be able to tell where he is based on where his brainwaves are coming from and be able to hit him every time.

I mean if you've ever watched any of the x men movies, you'll know that charles xavier doesn't need to be in the same proximity to control people so it's the same for emma frost. Even if you can't see hood they can still see his mind.
