I think both are great options for defense. Iceman has a lot of value on stun immune nodes. He’s a pretty common defender, so he won’t surprise anybody. If he’s stunnable, he’s a pretty easy fight.
Green Goblin is a great option due to his regen/power denial/debuffs. Putting him on an unblockable sp2 node, unstoppable heavy node, or a power gain node will put GG at a big advantage.
I personally don’t use Iceman as a defender anymore. He’s got his uses, but unless he’s on a stun immune node, he didn’t get many kills. I’m not in a high war tier, mind you. So maybe I’m way off. But I don’t mind seeing an awakened Iceman as a defender if I can stun him. Sure, I’ll take some cold snap damage. But I’ll usually fight him with a regen champ to offset that. I use Iceman as an AW attacker to help deal with evaders. Not sure if that’s helpful, it’s just my three cents
