does not reward many shards even completing with minimal health lost with one summoner. i get more shards from AQ/AQ/Uncollected daily crystals.

Sometimes I use one, but I usually just go back to then throughout the day. I'll complete one first thing in the morning and then the other at night. I'm a night owl too, so sometimes I'll get a head start on the next days after they switch over at 1 am PST.

when do u do the story/monthly quests?

I'm all done with story and usually knock out the event in the first week. That week I use a lot of energy refills.
