This is NOT a thread to post potential buffs to Phoenix! This is just to see what everyone thinks. I'm pretty sure that the Phoenix Force is a Dimensional Being/Cosmic Entity in the comics, so it seems only just to have her labeled as such in the Contest. (Yes, this would give Blade a boost against her)

    No, the Phoenix force is a cosmic entity, not a dimensional being. Dimensional beings like magic, Dormammu etc are connected to another dimension in one way or another while Phoenix is not.

    @Sungj The Phoenix Force "is the nexus of all psionic energy which does, has, and ever will exist in all realities of the Omniverse". And the Omniverse comprises " every single universe, multiverse, megaverse, dimension (alternate or pocket) and realm", or everything for short.

    Blade has a rough deal in this game considering the powerhouse his character is in the source material so anything that can be done to improve such a poor offering we have to be burdened with here just makes sense.

    @phillgreen while this change would boost blades utitlity (by one champ), that's not the purpose of my thread. The purpose of this is just character accuracy on Kabams part

    My mistake in the stories I've read of Phoenix they didn't indicate an inter-dimensional connection, lapse in knowledge

    But again, the game has it's own universe, separated from the other's.
    Marvel Universe isn't applied here. Wikipedia's or that kind of stuff can't really be used to justify something in the game

    this is obviously a way to increase blade's value. and just because she is a dimensional being doesn't mean she should be one in the game. There's countless examples of illogical abilities in this game (electro/iceman killing themselves etc. you just have to accept that this is a game, and to the best of their abilities, they try to balance that out. we don't need a phoenix "nerf" by buffing another champion. She's not even hard to deal with anyway.

    Her character in the game, not the marvel universe.

    In Universe X, they can say something exists in all universe's. In Universe Y, the exactly same thing might not exist in all universe's.

    @mum_m2 if you read some of my above posts, you would have read that this was about character accuracy, not giving blade a buff against one extra champion in this game.


    @will-o-wisp the phoenix force is an essential aspect of the omniverse, which comprises every aspect of the marvel universe as a whole, whether it be different universes or even different dimensions. And even though the Battlerealm takes place in a different universe, it still is a part of the Marvel Universe/omniverse. And due to this fact, the Phoenix should be labeled as a Dimensional Being due to "the highly mutagenic properties of ISO-8 reopened Jean's latent connection to the universal force of life, and the Phoenix was reborn again, this time into the Contest of Champions!" (Located in her BIO in-game).


    So the game even states that the Phoenix has a connection to the Phoenix Force

    @Voltolos yea, but does that really matter? Shes already not very useful and blade is already one of the best champs in the game, and when duped and has synergies, he is one of the best. I could care less if blade got his danger sense ability against her, I just think its a little inaccurate for the Phoenix to have a connection to the Phoenix Force and not be labeled what she should rightly be, a Dimensional Being
