To be fair, Black Friday (and Cyber Monday) are TIED to Thanksgiving, as the unofficial (aka, retailers/stores/etc.) beginning of the Christmas shopping season, the day after Thanksgiving, as most people have that Friday off from work as well as the holiday itself.
But the game makes those offers available to everyone no matter where they live. They also do something similar for Chinese New Year (for players worldwide).
And even though the exact day is based around the timing of the US Thanksgiving holiday, it's broader in the sense that they are in-game deals in advance of Christmas which is of course celebrated with gifts all around the world.
