Are crystal pulls decided when you buy crystals or at the point when you open them?

Are you sure this is correct? I don't think so. For example, a 5* feature crystal bought today, but held for say, three months, will not include the champions in the feature crystal at that time, it will contain the champions that are in the feature crystal today.

If you “buy” a 5* (or 6*) crystal with the Shards (either the Basic 10,000, or the Feature 15,000) the Pool of what is available in it should be “fixed” as of when you bought it.

But if there were whole 5* crystals (not under the Shards tab), just like there are some whole 4* and 3* crystals sometimes, then the available Pool should be whatever the Pool of champs is as the time you open those variety of whole crystals.

I could be wrong but I thought all crystals worked the same way. So Sunspot is added to the basic Nov 19. If I purchase a basic crystal with shards tomorrow and hold it until November 25th, I don't think I have a chance at Sunspot.

To answer the original question though, the champion is decided with you click Open to "pop" the crystal or when you move it into the spinner.

Just clicking on "Tap Crystal to stop" or "Open crystal" or let the crystal spin till it stops are the exact instances which determine the champ we pull

featured crystals are the exception, we are talking about the base crystal. If you buy a featured crystal they will always only have those sets of crystals because it is a unique crystal, all other crystals that pull from the basic queue you can wait and get new champs once they are put into the basic pool.

Featured 5* Crystals won't change. Only basic crystals. If you hold a fully formed crystal from now until the 19th when sunspot is added, he will be in the pool included with that basic 5* Crystal.

If you buy a featured crystal of the current version and and the new one comes out it wont reflect the changes.

Can we get @Kabam Miike or someone FROM KABAM to clarify? I know for a fact the reel does nothing but add entertainment. Mike when is the exact point the champ is chosen? When you tap open ? When the crystal is moved to spinner or when you tap spinning crystal? Thanks

The champion u will receive is selected the exact moment u place the crystal or u pop. This mean spinning time don’t affect the result. Hope that helped.

@Ice_and_Fire , it has been confirmed in the past. The hero you get is determined either at the time you hit OPEN (if you’re not spinning it), or at the time you drag crystal to spinning area and it starts to spin (NOT when the spinning actually stops).

In the later case, it has been shown that ally teammates can see who you got in Ally tab even while you are still letting the crystal spin forever (eventually the spinning will time out and show you your hero if you don’t stop the spinning yourself), so they see it even before you see who you get.

The other commentary up here is regarding what pool set of potential heroes are contained within the crystals (pertaining to when you convert your Shards into a Crystal), even if you don’t open it then. Those discussions are not about which exact hero has been determined at that point, just what the POOL of possible heroes are assigned to that converted crystal.

when you buy it it gets assigned a ref number like 1154212464554 which is X champion
the spinning and all that is the gambling part of the game, the casino effect, to try get you to open more and more and then start buying units and continue to open crystals
So champion is already decided the same time you buy/get it

The champion is not already decided the time u acquire/buy the crystal. This is in fact impossible to happen as new champs join the crystal’s pool. It’s better not creating confusion when don’t know about something.

What about with dual crystals? are they like featured or basic?
I want to wait till red guardian is added till I open crystals. If I exchange shards between now and tuesday, I can open the crystals as soon as he's added to the pool. Otherwise, I'll have to wait 2 days after he's added. I'm impatient lol but also interesting to know
