Nova changes before release?

I really hope that Nova gets buff or tweaked in some way before he is released into the game worldwide. His damage output seems incredibly low mainly because of his low potency furies. His sp3 damage is also hilariously bad for a 5* champ lol.

Best option is that when he is reviewed for balance that Kabam adds more damage to him. Anyway, I'd rather see that situation that the other way around (that he is deemed too OP and is rebalanced downward). Moving forward this seems like a better plan for Kabam -- release champs that are not OP and decide whether and how to make them better.

If every champ released each month is"OP" then the game won't be balanced so to avoid disappointments just bear in mind there will always be champs released that won't be useful. You can take look at last year champs and see the rotation of how things might play out this year.

Fan favourite lol. Nova is C-list at best. Used to be D-List. There’s a reason he hasn’t been featured in a movie; it’s because nobody actually cares except faux comic fans trying to be hipsters.

@Thi101 I think it would be cool to have Mystique in the game, but, like, what would her abilities be? Having a shapeshifter as a champ seems like a difficult concept to get right.

i'd love a mystique in game but doing justice to her abilities would b big challenge they'd have to make her generic like Rogue and i wouldnt want that! if they have technology now wish they'd rework a rogue and make her comic book accurate instead of some generic buff steal(loki does better !) m power steal (magik,doc oc n many other do better) health steal (unique to her but on Rng, omega, hype,angela.x23,mephisto,og ironman,superironman n so many other do it better)!

I even already thought on some improvements to this, but didn’t post it, ‘cause it would just get closed anyways (like being able to shrug off non damaging debuffs by shapeshifting and stuff)

Hidden in the “Champions Suggestion” thread there are also some amazing Mystique ideas...

Nova reminds me another champion that could be great but failed due to weak fury - Heimdall. They both can be great if their buff gets stronger since they have good utility already.

When you will face him on AW placed on a power gain node you will understand why he can’t have more damage output. His damage seems ok to me. He maybe not having the numbers of ghost or havok, but not every new release has to.

I mean but tbf Heimdall has some VERY good synergies and a permanent TS and projectile parrying. Yeah his damage is sorta lackluster but I wouldn’t say he is a fail.

Heimdall’s synergies don’t make him suck less. He’s just so weak with his buffs that take too long to build and they’re still capped despite being piddling compared to other cosmic champ buffs.

This whole comparison game is a losing one. Champs won't be unilaterally OP. When comparing, there will always be some that are greater, middle, and lower.

Don’t assume everyone wants all OP because they don’t want champs that suck. I want balanced champs where the juice is worth the squeeze. I also consider specialized champs balanced but they need to have an upside when the players actually play them. If I need to use a very specific style, I need to get a tangible benefit from it over a more accessible style. See Quake and Ghost. Speaking for myself, I don’t want complex stratagems and heavy in-fight timer watching just to wring mediocrity out of a champ.

Well Warlock is a shapechanger and they pulled that off
But yeah shapeshifting Abilities will possibly be hard

They can’t all be “beyond god tier”. It’s all about balance now

Balance doesn’t mean that some number of champs have to suck or have stupid mechanics so that we can have some great ones.

His damage is low as an attacker but he was designed to be a defender for aw like korg and a few others as a counter for ghost and corvus attack teams. Wait till he is out before judging his usefulness

A person can read the signature and do the math. Or watch the cc videos. He’s basically just like Korg.

Would be nice if he was more like IMIW and/or dark hawk. Good offensively. Great in defense.

Then do the math on his attack. At platinum aw with a 400% attack boost plus synergies how many hits are you going to take when you are parried by his autoblock and survive. As a final boss its 900% attack boost I think. Yeah he isn't going to be a huge attack champ probably rated around the same as cyclops but I'm going to guess his kill counts will top korg and there will be rank 2 if not rank 3 6*s on defense very shortly. He will be s pain in the *** on defense just like he was designed and you same guys crying about his attack will be calling for a nerf. YouTube videos show his attack at rank 3 but that isn't taking into account the boosts and whatever other nodes he will have.

You just going to act like domino and thing don't exist? Just because he is a great defender doesnt mean he should suck offensively. And if a champion isn't good at r3 then what difference would r5 make?

2 champs out of all released champs are solid attack and defenders. Not seeing your point. As far as a champ being good or bad in content creator videos. That is strictly as an offensive character. As I stated he is a defender created to counter common aw attack champs. Its called balance. You named the 2 out of maybe 4 exceptions in the game. I'd include doom (still new and not a real common defender) and guillotine 2099 in as having solid utility on both attack and defense with doom trading attack damage for power control. Your god tier attack champs if you want to use those lists have very few crossover characters on the defense list in the same god tier status.
