Namor vs. Omega Red

Since these champs are pretty similar - both Mutant, both benefit from high signature level, both have decent utility (Omega red benefits from bleeds and poison immune, Namor dishes back damage when attacking), both do really well suicide masteries - I thought I'd see which one the community prefers.

Namor

Namor hasn’t really been long enough to get an accurate poll from the community. You mentioned some similarities but these two have basically completely opposite play styles too. Omega is a bit sturdier with his ability to regen and near double immunities and does DoT. Namor is more of a bursty, high damage champ designed to do massive damage. Personally I like Namor more from the couple days I’ve had to use him. He’s a really good thorns/Electro counter. He counters numerous things in this game that are annoying: Dorm degen, limbo, degen in general, (psychic) thorns, Korg, Electro, Power Sting, Domino crit failure, and I’m sure the list goes on. On top of that he even regens a tiny bit on special activation. That’s not even to mention his prestige. Omega’s is not the greatest.

Namor

I prefer (right now) Namor because of his sig ability and high damage output. But Omega has better synergies imo.

I have both at r5, both are great, Omega Red is hands down better by a long shot. Theres very few fights namor can handle better then or.

Depends really,If you're the type of balls to wall bursty damage fast kill type of player then namor will suit you perfectly,otherwise if you're the smart,methodical type ayer than omega is for you. They both have they're strong points and weaknesses. But for the long run,omega red is still the better champion.

I have a 4/55 sig 200 Namor. I like him. But still wish I had a omega red. Way better synergy champ for sabretooth and others.

Just took my max sig Omega to 5/65 and use him everywhere. Nothing brings me more joy than applying 30 Death Spores then sitting back and watching the AI cook itself to death from across the screen. 😂😁🤭😁😂
Namor chaining 3-4 specials in a row comes a close 2nd tho.
I say don't choose. Rank them BOTH up when you can! 🥳🥳🥳

I'd say yes, but the fights are longer (you need to first get to SP2).

Omega Red

Omega. Functionally Dual immune. Can allow for safe parries against foes that can shrug debuffs. Passive DOT is always very useful. His ability also allows some of his attacks not to make any contact.

I don’t currently run suicides but have a R5 Namor. I have him for easy korg kills and fights that have irritating phases - found him quite useful on the V1 IMIW as his burst can basically one shot him. He’s also finding more use for me in 6.3 as the health pools actually make enduring his build up semi with it

That being said, there’s too many sp3s Involved and they’re all painfully long. If I had a choice I’d use OR

Namor

Using omega the player needs to be aggressive so as to maintain those spores.
That's why namor is easier to use

For me, that's Namor. I love Omega Red and wrote a long post about him when he came out, but I can put in more work with Namor because I intercept better with him
