I have read it is not needed. He still shines without it.

He doesn't need it but nice to have especially for longer fights but once ranked high enough fights don't last very long anyway. L1,L1,L2 and is over. You have to get used to gaining power back from his incinerate though.

Dont forget if awakened his synergy’s gets also much better

As someone with a max sig 5/65 sunspot, high sig it means you have to use the sp3 far less frequently to refresh your solar charges. as mentioned earlier it effects his synergies heavily & he has great prestige (just under Cap Marvel Movie)
