Claire Voyant's hidden utility!?

Godslayer_1Godslayer_1 Posts: 329 ★★★
So, I was looking at abilities of my new 3 star Claire Voyant and I realised something (which people probably doesn't know)

When in curse of blood or hellfire phase, landing a heavy or sp1 inflicts three debuffs.
If you have despair mastery maxed that is 15% reduction in healing for every debuff.
So, if you land 3 heavies and put on 9 debuffs, you will be able to reduce healing effects by 135%. So that is a way to reverse heal.

Also, she can reverse heal without despair mastery as during curse of plague, for each poison debuff health recovery is reduced by 30%
Only by landing two heavies (6 poison debuff) there will be 180% reduction for healing effects.
( I am not sure about the second part bcoz I haven't tried this yet. If someone can test this on ROL wolverine and put a video that would be great!!)

Thanks for reading

    That's not how it works.
With despair and the poisons, she is able to mitigate and reduce healing abilities. She is not able to reverse it, and she does not have a petrify ability.

If you can stack enough debuffs, the healing will be reduced to a negative value, therefore heal reversing

Despair mastery cannot go below 0. A champion needs to have some sort of inbuilt mechanic to reverse healing like petrify, guillotine spectral debuff or modok sp1. No matter how many debuffs u hv regen will be cancelled and not reversed.

There is so much proof on YouTube.

Just so you know, poison and despair/petrify are two different mechanics

No matter how many poisons you stack, it gives modifier of x0.7 to the power of number of poison stacks to healing, which means it may approach 0 but never become or go below it.

There is not much but here is Medusa with 20+ debuffs using despair to turn off healing, she cant reverse it.

Its possible that among all those ticks of damage some of it is coming from reverse healing.

Best example we can both agree on is void. Without the despair mastery, void at 2 petrify debuffs will have a total of 100% reduced healing, which is effectively a heal block. Now when we add the despair mastery on top of it, which reduces healing further by a certain percentage, healing has now been reduced to a negative value, showing that the despair mastery can with enough debuffs, cause reverse healing.

Nope, at 6 stack of healing rol wolvie with any reversal would melt. He’s not melting.

    It doesn’t work like that either. Despair’s heal reduction applies before petrify. It’s -30 + -100 = -130.

Its already been shown that despair caps at -100.

insightful, where was it shown about the despair cap?

I can’t remember exactly. one easy way to evidence this is dueling someone with will power and max recovery. Despair cannot overcome the +15% from recovery; so once you get get 8+ debuffs they’ll still heal for the same amount.

Here is a gif to illustrate it. You can see once the despair cap is hit (7 debuffs) adding more debuffs does not affect the healing.

Didn’t despair alone use to reverse healing? I think that’s where the confusions from. I use to be able to melt wolvie in rol with hype by stacking incinerates.

I think this thread is just presenting proofs that BW CV is bug and make it get fixed anytime in the future.

Bwcv can heal block with despair not heal reverse .. this is a pointless thread

Here’s a gif to illustrate how CV with max despair and multiple stacks of poison does not go beyond -100% healing.

Aren't all those -1s from reverse healing?
If you want to call turning a 6k+ heal into -1 heal reversing healing, sure; you might be the only one calling it a reverse heal though.
That is literally the definition of reverse healing haha, regeneration effects dealing damage instead of healing like they should. I never said it was a reverse heal at 100% effeciency.
