How does one take out an opponent using bleed?

Make them bleed and let the damage over time kill them

So once they are bleeding, you can't hit them to finish them off?

Let the bleed actually Finish the fight yes

I guess my question is "how do you initiate a bleed?" I've tried attacking and I've tried defending. Nothing works.

Only some champs actually have the bleed ability

    Only on special attacks.
    Domino on sp2
Gamora Sp2 is the big bleed.
Medusa SP2 if I remember correctly.

    Cheers! I'll check it out.

Using sp2 works 1 out 20 times. Thanks for the advice.

    Better than my results. Cheers!

Use BLADE. Use him and just keep Parry'ing the Opponent when they get close to death.
Or SP1 inflicts couple long bleeds.
Not sure about SP2 because Bleed Damage from that is basically in conjunction with actual SP2 Damage.

Appreciate the advice on Blade. Will definitely try that out. My current inquire is for female champs as there is a "special" objective in place I'm trying to achieve. Everything is a learning lesson and I value all input.

Female... Morningstar, when opponents hit you, she can cause Bleed in return (without even having to hit back).
There may be some qualifications to that, but use a Strong Morningstar against a very weak quest opponent, let them hit you all day long.

...thought maybe you meant the general rotating DAILY Objective, sometimes it's Bleed I think.

ALSO... SHOCK. Nebula, easy one there too. Hold Block for a while, or use Synergy with Proxima, and then later do a Parry. Can Shock to death without even hitting them.

So wish I had a Morningstar!!!

No, but once again definitely value all input for future combats.
