    Still having the same issue as well as the person above, on a Samsung S7 Edge. Stuck on the dark screen without the modal to pick a side ever loading.

    It does the same for me. The game opens up, asks me to choose a side. When I go to confirm selection I get the connection error in the bottom right of the screen. The game eventually kicks me out. Using iPhone X and latest update.

    It allowed me to do the same by going to the alliance tab and the screen goes back to being dimmed out and I can't press anything.

    Same issue here. And as stated above, after some time I was able to log in. The calendar screen showed up and said my rewards had been claimed. When I tried to exit the screen, it went dark and I was again locked out from any movement. Hope there's a fix soon. No aq and no access to place aw defenders. Lost out on some items that had expired as well.

    UPDATE: using a VPN helped with the issue for me. Anyone else?
