I'm confused. Why is Void taking incinerate damage from Human Torch?

So today I finally got to the mini boss Human Torch before anyone else in my alliance and decided to take a shot at him using Void. And lo and behold, Void got KO'd because of heat damage.

Ummmmm....isn't Void supposed to be fire/flame/incinerate immune? Or is HT able to bypass Void's incinerate immunity?

    Sure it's not energy damage from Nova form?

    It’s because he isn’t placing incinerate debuffs on you. He’s placing nova flame passives. The node in AQ5 allow him to enter nova form more often. Incinerate immunity doesn’t help you with that.

    Like they said, Incinerate PASSIVES from being in Nova Form can bypass normal incinerate immunities. Outside of Void, it can also cause massive damage to champs like Rulk, Mephisto, or Emma in Diamond Form, all of whom generally see no harm from incinerate debuffs.

    You can trigger his Nova form when you hit him with too many energy attacks. Void's L1 and L2 are both energy attacks that will add smolder charges to Torch, putting him closer to Nova form. If you must use Void, skip the specials and just use normal attacks and you should be fine.

    That's not how it is. Immunity to incinerate effects means that a champion will be immune to either incinerate debuffs and passive incinerates.

    Nova flames just aren't related to incinerate effects. They are passive DoT that deal energy damage, and that's it. Same thing as limbo or critical failure, for example

    He’s confused but He is right in a very small way because HT treats nova flames like incinerate debuffs

    Ugh. If that’s the case how do you deal with that regen he gets every 7 seconds if you can’t use Void’s specials? Thanks.

    If nova flame is active, he will take damage from it
