I’ve been a free to play player for years, not part of a crazy high alliance, and I’m really stingy with my units. Is this offer worth it for a t2a? I’m not sure what a reasonable unit price is, and It would cost me about half my current unit stash.

Not worth the units, if you're uncollected you could buy t2a fragments from the glory store easily

Been away from the game.
This current offer the lowest cost I am seeing.

I was tracking the cost, and it was 10k units in 2017.

If you are not in high tier alliance, it is worth considering.
