I keep it maxed. For nothing else aw defense especially if you are placed on a boss node. Still it's a nice ramp up in damage

its OK for AW, and a good PI boost as well. But I prefer masteries that help every champ in every fight every time. This only kicks in when you are already half dead!

I think it is one of the best masteries and should be maxed in every build.

Some say to cut to 1 because it wastes overall PI gain that could be obtained by spending points elsewhere, but having a 10% attack boost under half health is something I like.

That was a good point that it helps defense as well, many are probably thinking they can do away with extra points in courage because they don't need them on offense and didn't consider the AI benefits more from this when it has control.
