6.4.2 Prowess path

First off, I thought kabam wasn't going to do stages that you had to have specific champs to do and there's only 5 champs in the whole game that have prowess buffs, Bishop, Gambit, Goldpool, Havoc, and Proxima. I don't feel great thinking I need to r4 or r5 two or three of these champs just for this one path.

Who has everyone been using for this path or what other strategies are there?

But with these huge health pools, this just feels like a cash grab path and it sucks. I've ran most of 6.4 already. And most paths can be done using little or no revives. This path is the opposite.

Plus with the clapback node, havoc is the only mutant that is immune to his own debuff.

CapIW + mutant synergy mate = prowess for all other mutant champs. You're welcome

Emma has prowess without the need of a synergy as well.

Passive dot is the way to go, because it’s passive clap back won’t return it

DalBot, I already knew about that synergy, but thank you. It still doesn't take away from the fact that you are still going to do 90% less damage from all attacks except specials and that's only if you have a prowess buff.

Buffajr, I don't have sunspot unfortunately.

Mirage_Turtle, I had forgotten about Emma, I'm going to try her soon on that.

Lvernon15, how many champs deal passive dot that can handle the huge health pools? Void and Mr. Fantastic (maybe). But again that's going back to my point of having to rank up 1 specific champ to run 1 path

Sunspot doesn’t work great because of the cornered node. However Torch with pre-fight just annihilates at least one fight

If you look at the theme of 6.4 there’s 1-2 relatively straightforward paths per quest then after that it starts getting a bit more specialised. Most aren’t cheap - that VtD in 6.4.1 was awful - but they’re starting to make you explore your roster a bit more with different encounters. It’s probably one of the reasons there’s ½ a T2A in each path.

I finally decided to run the prowess path and these were the champs I used. CapIW 5/65 sig 200, storm 4/55 sig 100, domino 5/65 sig 200, Omega Red 5/65 sig 100. Just to run the path passed Man-Thing, I had to use 5 team revives, 13 40% revives, and 10 20% revives. I've had to save up resources for awhile before attempting this, but that's over 1000 units for 1 path!!! Plus the time and effort to store up the 20% revives as well.

When this path was designed, who were the champs that Kabam had in mind to use as counters? And that's not a rhetorical question, I'm actually curious to know what their thought process was. Because it looks like the majority of players have used champs that don't have prowess buffs at all.

using 1000 units on one path may be due to your skill level as well, this path was very easy for quake and havok for me didnt use a single unit

And also not using quake is part of the question too. You need to have a prowess buff to do damage, what champs can get prowess buffs and how was the path intended to be run

I'm not saying that I'm the best or worst, but for sure an above average player. I don't have havoc and that goes back to my original point of having to have a specific champ to run the path. And using quake makes me want to vomit. How long does each fight last, 20-30 minutes per fight because all you do is sit in the corner and hold heavy?

Quake's damage bypasses the Prowess requirement. It's normal damage so you don't need synergies and it will last as long as a typical quake fight.

I ended up using Quake for this path. As Maddog said, her Quake damage bypasses the prowess requirement. Each fight took a minute or two.

I only have quake at r4 and the damage output isn't worth trying to use her for the whole path. And for the huge health pools and attack values, you have to be an amazing quake player to be able to use her. Most players aren't

For many paths in A6 quake is the best option unless you have the "perfect counter."

Just boost up big and suck it up.

This particular path, it wasn't bad. I'm better with Quake now than I was then, but I was able to get by just doing heavy/parry/heavy/parry...not the full evasion style. You take some block damage, but nothing a few potions won't fix. Run through Realm of Legends twice and you'll probably have enough potions to take the path with an R4 Quake.

And honestly, even if the fights took a few minutes each, isn't that better than spending 1000 units worth of resources on the path?

I have 2 runs left at the grandmaster to have act 6 100% completed. So saying I'm not ready for that isn't true. I saved that path in 6.4.2 for a while and saved up the units because I knew it would cost me a bit for not having the right counters. I guess I did have some good counters and didn't realize it.

Wow that venom the duck was horrendous lol. Probably the worst fight I’ve experienced.

Yeah, that fight sucked. The rest of the path was pretty easy and fun, but VtD was a miserable fight. I can't believe that one made it past internal testing and beta testing

My team is similar to you, just pull 1 mutant out and put in 1 skill champion then you can defeat Man Thing with CAIW
