Reducing the Act 6 difficulty and giving people the same rewards wouldn't be "fair" to those of us that finished it already. I don't expect squat from that if and when that change gets made.

Exactly. Why make people feel like they are being screwed even when they are buffing the rewards? Why not make it feel like a win for everyone? I could see it if it were something game breaking, but this is just another needlessly bad move.

That doesn’t really have any relevance to this thread, but okay. I don’t expect compensation for Act 6 exploration for when they change it, I’ll just be happy that other players won’t have deal the same bs that I did

@Kabam Miike C’mon man, you can’t take the 15k shards away as part of this process. As someone who has 100% AOL, that’s not remotely fair to the community. You had a chance to knock this out of the park. The nexus crystal is a great idea- you could have added that, a selector for one of the T5cc crystals, kept the 15k 6* shards and it would have been a win for everyone!

You see the feedback here, there’s still time to change it and appease the majority. These are not game changing things to break the game wide open. Just pro player moves. Hope you all reconsider.

I mean just because you're fine with that doesn't mean it's right. If they do tone down fights, compensation should be given. That's what makes a game fair and keeps it's customers around. This isn't something that you're getting to do with lesser units due to having better champs down the line. It's something that they're planning and changing. So definitely a compensation package should be awarded. I really don't understand why people say 'life isn't fair'. This isn't RL. It's a game. We already have RNG based on what we get from the crystals. We don't need RNG to decide who gets the rewards based on when they do content.

What a surprise. You disagree with Logic and agree with Kabam. Please stop. This was supposed to be a reward buff. I could argue that the Abyss nexus crystal is worth 15k shards(I know you will disagree here) and all Kabam did was reduce the rng for players completing the content later and gave an advantage for people who explored early. They already got a legends reward for that.

this decision strikes me a lot like the mentality that lead to changing the aq map cost and then removing and or reducing the gold rewards. Why not just add something without trying to remove something? I can tell you that 1.5 extra 6* crystals certainly is not going to break the game, I recently pulled a blue cyslops which is proof of that.

Why would I only want to focus on what I'm getting, when others who put in the same effort are getting more? Many have already said that the crystal is an awesome addition which they like. They know what they're getting. And then they see what they're not getting, which people who have completed the event before are. Obviously they would want to focus on that. Since we all know that the crystal is good. Doesn't take anything away from the fact that you're getting shafted when compared to others.

I'm not going to review the choices here, just assume that your breakdown is correct for discussion purposes.

In that case, the odds of pulling ten out of ten "not worth it" for each class is (assuming I haven't made an error, these are on the fly calculations):

Mutant: 1 in 9798
Skill: 1 in 143
Science: 1 in 58788
Mystic: 1 in 3978
Cosmic: 1 in 3265
Tech: 1 in 2799

Best odds are with Science: it is possible someone will see that, but we likely won't see that kind of pull for quite a while. Mutant is second best, where only one in about ten thousand players are going to see ten out of ten being in the "not worth it" category. Mystic, Cosmic, and Tech are all in the one out of two to four thousand range. This is going to happen to a few players.

The odds for skill are rather high, depending on your point of view. It is less than one percent for any one player, so the odds are still good for avoiding a ten out of ten pull. However, at one in 143 we're also pretty much *guaranteed* to see players pull this sequence, probably soon after the crystal materializes. Again, I'm not endorsing the valuations themselves, but those odds are a little higher than I'm comfortable with. One in a hundred sounds great, unless hundreds of people are doing it.

For those interested in the math. If you have 12 bad and 10 good options, the odds of pulling one bad option is 12/22. *After* you pull that bad option since repeats are excluded the odds of pulling a second one become 11 in 21. So the odds of pulling all bad ten in a row become (12/22) * (11/21) * (10/20) * ... (3/13): ten terms total. This simplifies to 12!/2! / (22!/12!). Call the "Not worth it" amount N and the "Worth it" amount W. The formula becomes N!/(N-10!) / ((N+W)!/(N+W-10)!)

Note the corner case: if N is less than ten, at least one term in the long expansion becomes zero (and the simplifications break) and the entire product becomes zero. Which it should be, because if there are less than ten "Not worth it" options then it is impossible to pull ten of them. The odds of doing so become zero.

But "compensation" comes in the form of revives and potions basically always just like the abyss marvel change. Stuff I can't even claim bc I have things expiring everyday already. Is that "fair"? Don't see me throwing a tantrum about it though

I think it is really annoying that we only have 9 days left to go for exploration. This almost makes it impossible for working people to try to get the much better rewards. And here I refer to summoners with early exploration who will already have opened their T5CC. Thats far more beneficial than the 15k chards

Which I why I said before that they have made mistakes in compensation. Revives need to be better than L2 if they give, potions should be L5 atleast, or boosts should be given and the limit should be increased.
Also, I'm repeating what I said. There are a few who don't care. It may not affect you. But it does affect other people. Not affecting you doesn't make it not valid to have an issue with it. You have said you don't agree with it, but again, you don't have much of a problem since it doesn't affect you personally.
I'm FTP and it takes months for me to get a 6*. 15k shards is basically 8 months of Uncollected.

Well if it bothers anyone that much, hop into abyss and get it done. If you're not gonna do that be glad that they at least made this change bc when you finally do get abyss done, you're better off than you were before.

I really don't get why people are complaining. Anything Kabam does, you complain. The sad reality is that there's never going to be a change that is welcomed by the entire community. I think this change by Kabam is nearly perfect, with the only non-perfect part of it being that you have to choose the class for your nexus before opening the t5cc crystal. This crystal is giving you a nexus crystal of your CLASS CHOICE and giving you 10 CHAMPIONS to choose from. That is a MASSIVE improvement from the past in which you would have to open completely random crystals with a chance of 1/100+ champions in a massive pool of champions. Here, Kabam is massively reducing the RNG aspect by giving you 10 OPTIONS for 1 CLASS, meaning you have more or less a 50% chance to get the champion of your choice and nearly a 100% chance, if not a 100% chance, to get a God Tier Champion that can be used in endgame content for the present and the future. Quit whining, this is a massive improvement when it comes to the RNG aspect of this game.

The updated Rewards were commented on. Those will be given to the people who have done it. Compensation was mentioned as not being discussed yet. So it's not off the table but not confirmed.

I don't remember seeing anything about act 6 rewards as they haven't even committed to changing anything in it.

...and you haven't. This game may be built on randomized crystals but you still have to satisfyingly award your players for beating the toughest content of your game. The key word there is "satisfyingly".
There cannot be any room for a player to walk away unsatisfied having beat the game. That's just unheard of.
And there's plenty of room for that here.
Nobody is asking you to abandon your loyalty to RNG, it literally encompasses the entire game but this is about acknowledging time/effort/money/skill and a CHANCE at satisfying rewards for beating what is designed to be the toughest element of the game is ridiculous.

That's a very weak argument. 8 days to do 4 paths of Abyss without any prep for FTP is basically impossible. Also saying that your better off than before is plain stupid. They're updating the rewards for everyone. Not only for the new players. If it were only for the newer ones, you'd see most with 100% Abyss raise an issue. Which makes sense. Because rewards for permanent content are supposed to be then same no matter when you do it.

Glad to see changes to the game still inspire such powerful emotions in it’s players.

People are focusing on half the “advantage/fairness issues” of replacing 15k shards to insert the Abyss Nexus.

Yes you will get less than those who went before you but you will also be able to make a complete and whole decision based on your awakening gems, signature stones and prior t5cc while knowing that eventually you’ll get the t5cc to support your choice.

However on the other side players who have completed the Abyss and made decisions with their resources are denied the opportunity you now have in relation to awakening gems and signature stones. I myself would love the opportunity to better target a champion from the Abyss Nexus before having used my generic gem on them or to have the opportunity to target a specific champion for that gem. I have neither choice.

Both sides are disadvantaged and that’s actually a fair solution, in spite of it being counter intuitive. You don’t get and extra 15k shards and others don’t get the choice you now with the Abyss Nexus.
