What qualifies as a "good" champ to you?

These days it seems like unless a new champ is considered "god-tier" or beyond, that champ is considered "trash" or a waste. I was thinking, that while there are clearly champs in the game that are not very effective for clearing content (I'm looking at you Groot), there have been many newer released champs that are actually fairly good in my opinion. Sure...Storm Pyramid X, Terrax, and Man Thing are not game breaking, but they are all much better than many of the older champs in the game. What in your opinion qualifies a champ as "good". As MCOC releases new champs, does each new champ need to be better than the last, or is there a baseline criteria that you look for before looking to get a new addition to your team?

Well the numbers, obviously if someone’s dealing the damage of falcon we’ve got a problem but it also depends on their utility

Number 1 criteria is hitting hard. The more harder hitter the better.

    Number 2 is immunity.

Number 3 is some niche abilities.

    does someone have decent damage?
do they have a few aspects of utility?

someone either needs to deal big damage or have good utility.
more damage means they can have less utility.
more utility means they can have less damage.

but there is a line. if the damage is too low no amount of utility will make up for it.
i am beginning to feel even my beloved Ghost rider is suffering from this fate. he has really damn good utility and regen but his damage output is so low it makes him impractical with how big opponents health pools are now. and with 3min timers in AQ and AW. used to be AQ staple but now he times out too much.

Rocket Raccoon has no utility but good damage output. He is still a solid champ.
if he had a bit more HP or touch of utility he would be a very solid option. He has just fallen behind and not quite in touch anymore

For me, damage comes second, utility is, I feel the big factor which defines the general opinion towards a champion. As we have seen with warlock, imiw, and more recently, sorcerer supreme, their damage isn't broken(imiw's can be if played properly)but their utility makes them excellent. Of course, the damage should be at least average, otherwise they would be unusable.

Good champs have a return on resources invested i.e clearing content. Damage, utility, and niche are just measures to clear content.

A mixture of good damage, utility, and at least 1 useful immunity as well as the ability to counter a certain type of champ well.

I know that there has been mention of buffing or re-working earlier champs. Overall though, it seems like general consensus is that if champs like War Machine, OG Cap and Iron Man, Drax, or the Daredevils had a bit more damage, and either an immunity or 1 piece of utility then they would be considered "usable" even if not among the top champs in the game.
