Slightly confused on the AW changes

I try and keep up with all the updates. Maybe I missed something.

So far what I thought was going to happen was, increased rewards for seasons, a focus on moving away from tactics, and a map that used nodes to get away from the same tactic every time you play.

What I see is harder nodes, the same tactics with the addition of one that nerfs ghost and quake and no real change in rewards.

Perhaps you can brag that the map is smaller on the technicality that your not wasting energy teleporting but you have the same tactics, harder nodes, and the same rewards... wow... kabam.

Oh and the fix on matchmaking seems to be going well, we are facing an alliance that is a shell 13 million points above us. Well done

We are a 30 mil alliance, they are a 43 million alliance. They have zero history and show participation as their war rank last season. Just normal type of numbers wouldn’t you know?

Give it a few wars? No complaining yet.. hmm how many losses in a row will suffice. Especially after 1st match is **** and a definite loss. Then your ally thinks.,,, hmm how many we gonna loss. And when u loss we all know rewards are nothing. Imagine facing impossible enemies more than Once. I guarantee anything after 1st matchup facing another high enemy will all together pretty much end Aw for Way To many Alliances. I won’t even try if we face another high ally.

I love how the gold and platinum tier are the ones that benifit..6 to 8 wars where they get to walk all over totally miss matched alliances to crawl back to the ratings they think they deserve that will prove they are the platinum and golden gods they think they are! Meanwhile new and lower tier alliances have to settle for the "participation" rewards because they haven't got a decent match!
But it is all good! Those platinum and gold alliances will get lots of rewards and soon be back in their respective slots..."don't worry! It will all work our In the wash! for the gold and platinum tiers!!!"
And i don't see reward improvement except at the very top so this exercise is for a bunch of whining twits who don't think they been getting what they deserve???

Our alliance won't play AW anymore. Congrats on ruining what once was a fun mode

So glad we haven't started war again. I'm not looking forward to another season of this.

How exactly did smaller alliances scam the system? You mean by winning matchups that they matched against? Kabam’s matchmaking was broken because it included alliances that weren’t active, not because we got matched against alliances with similar strength as us. Top alliances that lose shouldn’t get too rewards and now the new system is only going to keep top alliances at the top of the rewards. If smaller alliances consistently win their matchups they deserve better rewards so they can maybe grow into one of the top alliances.

What about the top alliances that won their matchups? Did they to scam the system or did they figure out how to win their perspective matchups?

This is a misconception. The new matchmaking will have very minimal impact in the masters bracket, some impact at plat but the largest impact will be in the gold and silver level.

It is a simple matter of numbers. The overwhelming majority of alliances fall into those two brackets. If you think this somehow benefits top alliances you are mistaken.

Perhaps you think of all alliances with well developed rosters as "top" alliances. That's just not true. Top alliances are just that, the very best of the best. They are by definition the minority.

This change affects the middle of the pack the most. And by your logic, they need those rewards to perhaps grow into a top alliance.

no they'll get the rewards they deserve. the system has been broken and allowed exploits. the new system will allow people to find the right tier for them. you'll go the rank you deserve and get the rewards you deserve. your war rating is inflated because of the old system. if you cant win against the allies in your rating, you don't deserve to be there. simple MMR system. the old system didn't match people based on war rating and allowed alliances to exploit the system by not facing harder allies

@Romans58 If you think by placing master a couple seasons, alliances will join "top" alliances, you are deluded. "Top" alliances is a measure of the size of your wallet/ dedication in terms of time (to grind). and skill. A couple seasons of these paltry rewards will not build any small alliance into a top one unless they drop serious coin.

My alliance has been in Silver 2 for a long time and right out of the gate we're matched against an alliance that's over double our rating. We have the exact same war rating. It's laughable. They breezed through us and were having to fight almost all 6* guys. Something seems wrong about this new system. I'll take our loss and hope it gets better, it's just highly questionable to me right now.

It will get better, unfortunately it will take time. You never should have had a higher war rating than the alliance you are facing in the first place.
