Should I awaken the champion or just hold on ???

I got a tech and a cosmic 5 star awakening gem.. I don't have a good 5* tech champion(except og iron man)....
Should I use it on the champion or phoenix(heard that she is good with the awakened ability) or should I just hold on to the awakening gem ?
And like which champion is worth awakening?

    In general which champion really benefit from the awakened ability ?

    Hold.

    Tech - Sentinel, Ghost, or Guilly 2099,
    Cosmic - Hyperion, Corvus, or Medusa

    There are other champs that will benefit from an awakening but usually it is these champs.

    I'd suggest Seatin's tier list. Even though most disagree in his placing, I think it's almost perfectly accurate as far as awakenewing goes. Check the legend key he uses. Champs with a hand/star symbol next to them benefit the most. Also you don't have to use items in the game right away. You can always save them for better champs
