Crystal Update - Nexus Chance Addition

Greetings Summoners!

Some fantastic improvements are coming to a Crystal near you! This October there will be improvements made to Premium Hero Crystals, Grandmaster Crystals and Cavalier Crystals. Starting October 1, a small chance of a Nexus Crystal will be added to each of these Crystals.

This change will affect all current basic Premium Hero Crystals, Grandmaster Crystals and Cavalier Crystals - so hold on to them for October 1 if you want the additional Nexus chance.

In addition, select Featured Hero crystals starting October 8 will also have a small chance of Nexus Crystals added. Don’t worry, we won’t be changing the Featured Hero chances - the goal is if you don’t happen to get the Featured Hero, you have a chance to at least make a choice between some exciting Champions. Be sure to look out for the updated Nexus chance in the new Champion releases!

Additional notes:
- The chance of getting a certain Star Rating is not changing. If it is a 3% chance of a 4-Star, it will still be a 3% chance of a 4-Star, you just might get it in the form of a 4-Star Nexus crystal instead of a 4-Star Champion.
- For featured crystals - we are not changing the chance of a featured champion AT ALL. The Featured Hero chance remains the same.
- % chance of Nexus is out of 100% - so for a Premium Hero Crystal it is a 0.6% chance for all pulls, not a 0.6% on a 3% chance of 4-Star.
- First Featured Hero planned is the first new character in October.

A few good questions that @SummonerNR had:
(A) So this extends down to PC's as well ? 2/3/4 potential, so the 4* potential will have some of it's odds shifted into a 4* Nexus choice instead ?

(B) For the PC, are these just from WHOLE PREMIUM's, and not from formed PC Shards crystals ?

(C) And for all, it says “Nexus Crystal”, so would you get an actual Nexus Crystal into you inventory that you would then have to separately open later ? Or is it an immediate Nexus Choice right away when you open that PC/GC/Cav Crystal ?

Nice! Nexus are one of the best additions to the game. Gambling is gambling , you're going to win some and lose more, but the chance at a choice is welcome.

I don't pull *lots* of 5* or 6* champs from those crystals, but I get them every so often. To have one out of five become Nexus crystals is interesting, and the way the math works out it improves the odds of pulling a specific champion from those crystals by about 40%, also a not insignificant shift in odds.

Even the 4* Nexus from the PHCs isn't a complete waste, as it increases the odds of me filling in the few 4* holes I have, or alternatively steering 4* drops into max sig crystals, which means more 5* shards.

3* champs should be removed from the Cavalier crystals. They are useless just like 4* champs are now too.

That's like someone saying who cares if they buff champs, because the odds of pulling the champ they buffed is so low it doesn't matter.

Also, all I said was that I care about the change, because it is a positive change. That makes it more of a short smile and a nod, or only approximately 3.82% of one backflip. So yes, not worth turning back flips over. If they announced 26 other changes of similar magnitude simultaneously, I might have done one backflip. But certainly not two or more backflips.

I’m not the biggest fan of this change, but for anyone to say that this is a negative change is factually incorrect. This change has no negatives to it, but only a very small improvement.

I'm fine with the change in crystals, it a nice little bonus. But I would've much rather seen a change to the solo crystals and war crystals etc.

I’d be happy with that. If it a choice between either just pulling groot, or choosing one of those three champions, I’d rather choose between one of those three champions every day. I currently want mystic ISO but am drowning in cosmic iso, so it actually solves a problem that would otherwise carry on being a problem.

That's what I'm talking about. They need to increase the drop rates. Getting a nexus once about every 6 months is lame.

For 6* featured Cav’s I believe it’s a 1 in 333 of getting a 6* Nexus. It’s not exactly a massive improvement on where we currently are. We get a 1 in 333 of chance of pulling a Crystal that gives of a 20 out 180 chance of getting a champion that’s useful for end game content.

To me this is a small step in the right direction, but about as small a step as you could take.

Actually, this makes the crystals in question more interesting to open without making them so valuable everyone thinks they are necessary to game progress. Making them wildly higher in value isn't something I consider to be "the right direction."

this is a nice touch I guess, though I really doubt anyone's really buying grandmaster and cavalier crystals lol
solo crystals and arena milestones (shards-wise) are in dire need of an update, not sure if anyone really cares about a super small chance at a nexus from crystals they probably don't even go for
