Any shard hoarders here that can share insight on how to resist popping crystals open immediately?
Initially I would claim the 4 hour free crystals and the daily crystals from the home screen and back out immediately, sort of treated it as though the crystals tab never existed. The shards accumulated for months along with the battlechips. Over time, got used to it and hoarding became easier.
The key is to resist your urges in the earlier days young Padawan.

I have started this road just last week. Gained 1.5k units since. Determined to reach at least 8k units for an initial Abyss run or the cyber weekend offers, whichever will give better value for units and effort.

Personal clarity and willpower are the most effective. Keep your eyes on the prize. Don't linger in the app unless fighting or managing your roster. Making a commitment to do it with witnesses also helps maintain the conviction. Just like what I just did here.

Get willpower.

The crystals are stupid, and 6.3 gives better rewards than cav crystals. Because after 6.3 is 6.4, which gets you closer to Thronebreaker and Act 6 completion rewards.

Never ever gotten EMP mods on before using dusa for that fight, even if you get a couple its a simple strat of heavy spaming in the corner.

I used to be a pop open guy... i was able to stop only once my roster had expanded to the point where i no longer feel i "need" certain champs... there are still many i'd love to have but ive got good answers to most questions in the game, and now i can horde
I've got 110k of 5* shards waiting for Prof X/Dragon Man feature... once i get them, ill start hording again for apoc

Probably not helpful advice but that's how it worked for me.

See I'm kinda at that place that I don't really need new champs, I just need to make rank ups. But there are a few champs I'm after (damn you Venom) and I keep opening them in the hope.
