This is against the laws of nature!!!

Hello everybody, sorry for the "slightly clickbait" title. I made this thread to look at an interested aspect of the game. A short disclaimer: I do not critisize anything, in fact I really like this aspect of the game.

I am talking about champions countering class disadvantage, they are spread across the contest and it can often surprise the players. Here are some examples:

1) Magneto vs. "Most techs"

This one's the most obvious one: Magneto cancels class disadvantage, and he is made to be that way (it could be argued that no champ should be able to have class advantage over 1/3 of champs but that is for another discussion)

2) Luke Cage vs. mystics

Lule Cage's sig ability is a buff. Buffs feed mystics, so that makes his sig contraproductive at times. Try tanking Magik SP3 with him...

3) Punisher 2099 vs. Colossus

This isn't a new one, but still it's interesting: Punisher gains battery slower for each buff in his opponent. And well, Colossus starts with 2 buffs, effectively slowing Punisher's battery gains 3x.

These are only some of those. Please comment below which ones you find.

I’ve never tried Luke Cage against Magik in reference to your 2nd point but it feels like it shouldn’t work the way you’re describing. Magik’s sp3 deals increased damage based on number of buffs on you when she hits it. If you haven’t been hit during the fight, the indestructible buff isn’t active until after the sp3 hits, ergo it shouldn’t impact.

Interesting if it does though.

@Faseeh @Midnite93 I may not have made myself clear anough: Magneto is made to be good against techs, and he cancels natural class disadvantage. And it should be that way, since he literally controls everything metallic. No arguments on that.

I wanted to point out that someone could argue, that it is strange for one champion to have class advantage over 2 classes (skills and techs minus RR and SL), but the eventual discussion about it is not to be done here.

I said in the post that I dont think it is wrong. It just interests me that even with class disadvantage, some champs can counter their "superiors".

In fact, against Hyperions I use only Doc Ock. Despite his class disadvantage, he is very good counter to Superman

I don't have my game open at the moment, but if memory serves this is one of the few things (IMO) that Karnak really shines with. His class disadvantage reduces over the course of the fight, I believe, until it is canceled out entirely.

The guy's counters kinda boils down to just nullifying as opposed to power control tbh.
