Biohazard - should non-contact hits count?

For example since Professor-X only makes contact with his first medium hit shouldn't it be the only one that counts since it is the only one that makes contact?

Nodes like Biohazard, freezer burn, and spiked armor can trigger against all hits. Thorns only triggers against contact hits as is stated in it's description.
