How does Warlock's offensive AAR work?

I pulled a 5* Warlock 2 days ago and took him from r1 straight to r5 just because I knew he was an amazing champion. However, I don't really understand his offensive AAR. I am used to defensive AAR champs. Can someone explain to me how offensive AAR works?

He can reduce defensive Aar which usuall isn’t useful when you use him OFFENSIVELY

Things like Rulks double damage can be prevented using offensive Aar. Dooms aura can be prevented from Aar only if it’s activated by a special 1 or 3. If you get clipped by a special 2 that is guaranteed to inflict a dot effect, the Aar has a chance to prevent it.

It’s like Glancing. It also works well against champions that nullify when hitting someone. This is Warlocks ability which makes him a good defender, but isn’t really necessary while on offense

Thanks a lot, this is very helpful! So from what I can tell, it's a nice ability to have offensively but doesn't do much but it can come in handy from time to time, but on defense, it's very helpful.

For example, while you fight him with Medusa, if you don't get the armour shatter before infection happens, it'll be very hard to get the shatter with sp1 since your hits won't always apply armour break.

In general , abilities that occur when you're hitting the opponent is called Offensive ABIlity. Although in the purpose of how the game works, it reduces all abilities when being attacked

So that's why Medusa's armor breaks have failed in the past while facing Warlock! Thanks a lot dude!

Yeah. Offensive abilities are abilities that occur when you're attacking and defensive is when being attacked. The only time I actively noticed Warlocks AAR is against E.M.P. mod. Sometimes the shocks won't get applied.

Offensive aar = reducing the ability accuracy of offensive abilities / nodes so like Asepct Of War, unblockable (depending on scenario) Something like Cap IWs fury when he uses his heavy the infection may cause it to fail.

Offensive Ability: Abilities that are activated when hitting.
IMIW applies Armor break from his Heavy attack. Nick Fury applying bleeds when hitting.

Defensive Ability: Abilities that are activated when getting hit.
IMIW auto blocks attacks when getting hit.
Spiderman evading an attack.

There's no hard line between which ability belongs to which category. Like Nick Fury applying bleed(when hitting) is offensive but Morningstar applying bleed(upon getting hit) is defensive.

yeah i cant wait. i been waiting for a solid poison immune xl champ to finish exploring the last two quests of v2 so im relieved i dont have to wait anymore.
