How Tough Are Deathmatches?

I was grinding arena and got a deathmatch against a team more than 8 times my power level. Is this correct?

I got one of those yesterday, if the opponent has suicides it isn’t that bad. (Made a silly mistake on the nick fight.)

Yes normal cant use r3 or R1 5 Star

It's better than before, but I have times where the AI still behaves weird.

The AI is equally not throwing specials and acting weird. For example when I try reparry, it hits one hit into block and then just stands there for quite a while.

Death matches wouldn't be that big an issue if the AI was consistent with quests, as we go up against much stronger opponents there. It's the arena AI that's the main problem here

The funniest death match happened to me yesterday. I had 5* r2 VP Hulk and GG against Ægon Havok and Warlock. I was expecting to beat Ægon, die to Havok, and maybe squeak by on Warlock, but my stupid self got reverse-intercepted by Ægon (the easiest fight) and I died in one combo.

Next was Havok vs Hulk. It actually went fairly well; I used his L1 to stun and push to L2, and somehow I think I kept the debuffs on me at like 3. My first time beating a serious Havok without an armor buff or natural counter.

Then Warlock was stressful since I essentially MLLL block until I got an opening so he wouldn’t shock me with his L1. Thankfully I was smart enough to do someone that regens a lot of basic damage back, and the AI was cooperating, so I got him to L2 every time. The power drain was annoying because I could hardly ever get to my L2 to do any sort of damage.

I went at 15.8k pi once and got a deathmatch, pi needs to be over 16k

Death matches are fine when they throw their specials. Especially since many run suicides. But if they’re stingy with the specials or you just have a very bad matchup they’re a bit annoying
