Returning to the game

so im thinking of returning to the game as ive been off for a few months as usual because i am pretty much an on and off player for the past 3 years but i would like to know hows the game now and what have i missed out on.

It's bitter sweet. So much of the game is good, but so much is still repetitive or disheartening if RNG isn't in your favor. It's fun if you don't get addicted and don't feel like you have to compete with everyone else. Despite the name, it isn't a contest and there is no actual winner. It's a lot more enjoyable if you treat it that way too.
Cosmic Ghost rider - awesome
Silver surfer - great
Air Walker - ok
Terrax - dud
Apocalypse is the best mutant champion in the game (in terms of how much he can do for himself and others)
