Kabam’s outlook toward cavalier players

I know many cavalier players are upset about the offers. I certainly didn’t spend what I expected, considering the unit and cash offers were worse than July 4. If you’ve been paying attention, Kabam has let us know how they plan to treat cavalier players moving forward. You might be unhappy with certain offers, bad/no communication, or the widening gap between whales and others.

What does Kabam have to earn back the goodwill of jilted Cavalier players? It can be summed up with three simple words: gifts for you. To save time moving forward, I’ll abbreviate as GFY, because there’s a lot going on right now and this will be a long post.

The release notes say there’s going to be a special Christmas surprise for summoners. If you’re cavalier, that means GFY.

December’s big event? Gifting. You and your cavalier alliance mates can work together. Even bigger GFY.

You didn’t like the 1000 unit offer of mundane rank up resources and RNG shards? Well, GFY - you just got a free t2a off the monthly calendar. They do this every month! Plus there’s a holiday calendar and anniversary calendar.

The cash offers aren’t as good as July 4? Kabam is clear in the initial announcement - GFY. These shards and catalysts are just gifts for you on top of regular units. Bonuses, really.

And don’t forget that the anniversary is coming up. As we finish the sixth year of the contest, Kabam has a special profile pic and title as one more GFY.

No one is telling anyone to G F themselves. There are Gifts appropriate to Titles, as well as the Bonuses for Gold and BCs. Anyone Uncollected and above will also have access to all Arenas for 6* Shards and down. We have Gifting coming up and a few other odds and ends. The only thing that has anything to do with TB is the Sigil additions, and none of it is a middle finger to Cavs.

Upgraded in every category? They added Thronebreaker, and Conqueror will get a T4CC for 2 Basics instead of 3. That's it.

No it's not? When TB was introduced cavaliers knew that they would no longer get the best deals in the game. That was accepted and acknowledged across the board. When a new ceiling is introduced the players at the top are expected to get rewarded more for their effort or skill. Unfortunately having 1 r3 has little to do with skill in most cases especially when the resources have been offered many times already for money. There is no reason to nerf cavalier. Why not have a separate glory store rewards for cavaliers? If they offered 15% t5cc crystal for July 4th why downgrade to only 10% t5cc in the odin for cyber weekend? Not even a 10% selector. Fact is that Kabam is tone deaf since the community has been very outspoken on the issue. There was 55% t5cc in unit deals July 4th. This time around there is 0% available in unit deals. I've already read your reply regarding how there should be no expectation of past deals improving and should be taken by themselves but that is just bs. Every year July 4th has shown to be a great expectation of what Cyber Weekend deals would end up being with a consensus that they would at least be as good if not better, not worse. If this was not an expectation the players should have Kabam should have come out and said something to that effect. They have come out and corrected players many times in the past, but this time they did not.

Except it is because they aren't mentioned at all. They ask the forums what improvements can be made. They collect feedback and then push out something that doesn't mention cavaliers anywhere. That's a big middle finger in my opinion. They easily could have added something else but decided to reduce the cost of something a lot of cavaliers don't care for any more and nothing targeted specifically for cavaliers. Ofcourse they have the right to play with the economy as they wish but 2 EQ ago there was 10% t5cc up for grabs and the next one only shows a total of 4%. They are widening the gap by letting those that spend or were lucky enough to be thronebreaker to gather a very large percentage of t5cc and then reduce it's availability in content. Watch the new thronebreaker solo event completely dwarf the cavalier one as well. If they wanted to create this disparity why not make the requirements more indicative of skill or game progression? If they didn't want people to instantly become thronebreaker then don't place the resources in money deals and distribute the amount they would have offered to skill based challenges or leave things as they are but keep money deals to crystals and place selectors in challenging in game content.

I was looking forward to these deals. I had put aside money to take up all odins. Instead we got a lot of RNG shards and crystals everywhere so I took some of the smaller deals and called it a day.

For you or others that would say that it is all a "bonus" since they always cost the same with units, that's not how I view it. The original cost of $100 for 3100 units is something I would NEVER do. That is not the value I put on the units. That's like saying that a 4* crystal for 2k units is a good deal because of the 2500 unit deal that pops up. That's not a fair comparison and not the real value of a 4* crystal. Likewise, just because an odin is $100 for 3100 units does not mean that it is what the units cost since they can be grinded for or acquired outside of those deals. While I won't be one to call the deals trash for cavaliers, most were not worth acquiring in my opinion and all in all a huge disappointment.

I'm not whining, nor am I trying to push for TB. I'll probably get it at some point but I'm not concerned with it just now. I'm just saying that getting TB requires putting a hell of a lot of effort and time into a video game, it's not as simple as "just getting it" and to a lot of people the effort required is unreasonable. And please keep your opinions to yourself about what I "deserve"
It's my decision not to do abyss, it's not a requirement to play the game.

And i agree with GW here. I have had a few at length discussions with some people that are Thronebreaker, not able to become so due to RNG even though theyre putting in the work, and those who are relatively-not so close to abyss etc. I think that in a perfect world the title should have been given to those who had obtained “The Abyss Stared Back“ and “Breaker of Thrones”. But all this complaining is absurd. This is what happened when cav was introduced. A new ceiling for titles gets released, they get better rewards. Its simple.

I'm Cavalier and I couldn't care less. Honestly happy to save my units lol. I opened a 6* and got a dupe of deadpool x and realized I can get trash luck without spending money or burning units.

Problem is I need R3 6* for that content or loads of recources... Act 6 100% would cost me about 100k units grandmaster alone cost me 45 revives...

I’m really upset! I just realized that there were different offers for the thronebrakers respect cavaliers.
I already bought the offers and looking at the difference is crazy!
I already completed act 6 and abyss months ago and I have several 6 stars, but no one to rank 3 because of the mismatch between my cata class 5 and my rooster, and it depends on lucky! And so I cannot have the same offer of a thronebraker because I didn’t have the luck to find a champion to rank 3! And this will bring to have a wider difference on players based on lucky and not on the game!
I’m really disappointed, this difference it is insane! I would really have a feedback Kabam on how you would manage it. I think that it will bring to go out definitely from the game!
I hope there will be a compensation for that! Or let me know how I can ask to be refund! I didn’t play at Las Vegas, I’m playing a game that SHOULD NOT BE A GAMBLE!

Except it's not what happened. A new ceiling was introduced and got the rewards the previous ceiling would have got. I don't know how people can't see this is the crux of the problem.

If you add a new ceiling, it's on top of the previous one, keyword 'add' not 'replace', you don't cram more storeys in the same space...
