Totally depends what you want to use him for and what mastery setup you're running. If you don't use suicides and don't need his resistances for bleed or someone like Magik, then no he doesn't NEED high sig. It's an incredibly useful sig ability though.
If you can put a large dump of sigs into him immediately I would say yes. If your sig adding plan for him is more long term and over time I wouldn’t say he’s worth the generic.
Guardian He has damage Taught Power drain Shock Armor up 75% auto block on specials He can parry Domino,Havok and prof x(This I really like:) Has the 3rd highest block proficiency 79% reduced bleed damage Makes Limbo and electro static shock look like a joke when awakened
Definitely worth a generic and max sig. But unless you have all the stones ready to go you might want to wait for a natural dupe.
Guardian gets my vote also. Sasquatch is cool, but Guardian has so much more utility and most of that utility will be helpful in Book 2. Neither champ is useful in V6 either.
OP mentioned V5. Sasquatch would be good there, but unless you're very short on mystic champs you don't really need to rank him up for it.
